After dropping off the loan application referred to in Title Deeds on the 21st, it was time to do my other "first". Specifically; heading to the Sydney Showground to drop off my prints for entry into the first competition I've tried my hand at, the Sydney Royal Easter Show's photography exhibit. While I was there I had to wear this fluro vest because of the amount of construction preparation that was happening ahead of the show's opening in a couple of weeks. (It's actually not my own, I had to hand it back after the drop off. But, you know, poetic licence and such.)
Hearing the volunteer say "Gee, we've received a lot of photographs this year" when the number of entries allowed per category had dropped from 2 last year to 1 this year did not inspire confidence.
Still, I'm not expecting to win anything; just to be shown is enough. (Not that that's guaranteed either but I think one of them has a better than even chance.) For the two week duration of the show I'm pretty much guaranteed to get more hits than PBase (though StatCounter won't show me how many), and at least I know that no-one can download one of my images from the wall. I hope.
