We'd spent most of the day in court on a property case that had dragged on for over a year and which had left our lives effectively "on hold" during that time. Finally it was settled (in no small part due to a new judge who, unlike the previous one, was prepared to take the time to read evidence and actually make decisions), meaning that life's about to head off in a substantially different direction. A direction which has both positive and negative aspects to it, though far more of the former than the latter.
However "exhaustion" was the keynote by the end of the day (more mental than physical; the case was due to be heard at 11:30am and was in fact finalised at around 5pm) and since no-one felt like cooking we went to a Mexican restaurant to celebrate. (On the way back we passed the local cinema which had a sign up on its features board reading "May The Force Be With You". "It was today", I uttered as we passed it.)
I elected to take the 40D into the restaurant with the macro lens attached, and used it for an abstract shot of the table candle and my water glass. Had I been feeling more energetic I may well have shot a wide angle of the restaurant itself, for the décor is as pleasing to the eye as the food is to the palate.
