We should, perhaps, have had table 365. We should, perhaps, have had better weather than the rain and drizzle that we'd had for so many days, though at least it was cooler than last year. (This is what prompted me to shoot in rather than out this time.)

It hasn't been a perfect year. I'm certainly not enchanted with work, a certain federal bureaucracy continues to stuff around on a certain matter that leaves lives in limbo to some extent, the stock market and the economies of many nations are still impersonating road kill, and there's the issue of coming down with una brutta influenza on trip 1 to Melbourne back in June and a close friend getting something far worse... but leaving aside all of that, for me at least it's been on balance a very good year with the sole regret that so far it's been only one.

The past is of course the past and can't be changed, but what people do with the future is up to them, to some extent.
