Last Australia Day I made an early morning visit to Bondi Beach to take a pre-dawn Australia Day shot for my PAD. This year I had rather more important things to do so I didn't get any specific Australia Day shot at all.
However in the course of those more important things, we went to see the widely acclaimed Natalie Portman movie The Black Swan. Now, I'm not going to say that it was a bad movie, and I'm glad that I went to see it. But I think it's not unreasonable to say that a great proportion of the audience's reaction (and certainly ours) at the end was "Whuck??? What the h3ll was that?"
At the end of the day I initially decided to go to Bicentennial Park to see whether there were any late afternoon shots that might be relevant. But between what appeared to be a wedding reception and fireworks later this evening there were no parking spaces at all. I therefore went to Burwood Park as my alternative destination but by that time the light was sub-optimal. Still, I got a shot which maintains my record for this year of a photo every day, and it's a shot that kinda sorta has relevance to the events of today if you half close your eyes, squint and imagine a bit.
Much as it would be wise to do with the movie.
