Monday was a public holiday, making this a four day week after most people had been on required leave for the better part of 2 weeks. It's also end of the accounting month and half year, which means that all of the work that didn't get done in that period had to be caught up with, rapidly. And in my case, my assistant resigned just before Christmas so not only was I doing his work, I had to re-familiarise myself with it.

Oh, and one of my servers crashed this afternoon during the course of my 12 and a half hour work day, then on the way home a storm swept through drenching me so thoroughly that it was as if I had swum 800 metres in my clothes.

To say that this week has been a little bit "underwater" (or at least the bit since we returned to work has been)... well, that may be putting it generously. This is also the first day this week that I've even ventured outside during lunch; the others have been down to the cafeteria, grab it & go.

Still, Monday made the rest worthwhile.
