Friday afternoon, and the sun is getting low in the sky as yet another week fades out. Some of the branches, leaves and seeds of this tree are still lit, but others have passed into shadow.
I have no idea what the tree is; the leaves say a member of the maple family, the seeds don't. This is a subject that I must learn more about, and of course discovering new things is one of the more pleasant side effects of PADing.
I can't say that I'm crazy about this one. The central seed is a little too central, but every time I start cropping I take out content that I want to keep in. It's also a little overwhelmed in scale by the nearer ones which are outside the depth of field. Admittedly I was in a bit of a rush to get this one before the light started to vanish, but it provides some food for framing thought.

Update January 2024: I still can't really tell one tree from another... but then I still haven't found a decent textbook on that topic.
