"You cain't always get what you want", as the esteemed philosopher M. Jagger once opined. Neither of the weekend PADs were what I originally intended them to be as I was heading into the weekend. Saturday's was originally going to be a leisurely Saturday breakfast and turned out to be a happy duck, today's was originally going to have a golf theme but given that the city is soaked and I don't feel like getting down onto the wet grass with my 40D I've put that plan on hold.

After yesterday's oven-like temperatures a cool change (complete with thunderstorms) mercifully swept through the city. Showers continue today, the results of which can be seen on a plant in my yard. The house is still baking, but today's top temperature is a comfortable 25 degrees C. The respite will be brief, however, leading up to 31 degrees on Australia Day. And no, I will not be at the beach then, I value my basal skin cells too much. (Or will I? For a PAD is a voracious gallery, forever in need of new fodder. If I am, you can bet it'll be early in the day. You'll just have to tune in on Tuesday to see.)
