A majestic Pan Am 747 banking beyond the FAA Control Tower at MIA after takeoff on runway 12. The tower depicted was used by Pan Am Ramp Ops from 1984 (when the FAA moved to west side) until their shutdown on December 4, 1991. The Aviation Department's Gate Control section moved up there in January 1992 after refurbishment, and shares the tower cab with American's ramp controllers.
