The specific status of this famous owl is still not settled. It looks like a cross between Black-and-white Owl (west of the Andes) and Black-banded Owl (lowland Amazonas) but lives at 2000 masl on the east slope of the Andes. Blood sample has been taken so an answer may not be that far away.
Easily seen around the lodge buildings.
