The Acropolis

Viewing in 'Original' size recommended

The Parthenon (left) and The Erechtheum at the Acropolis of Athens.
The entire 'sacred rock of the city' - the Acropolis - was formally proclaimed as the pre-eminent
monument on the European Cultural Heritage list of monuments on 26 March 2007.

This image is actually successive full frame exposures on Agfa film CN17,
a strange color negative film without the orange dye base. Accordingly,
it is miserable to scan, and these images have been left as they are,
complete with spots and stains and dust. Happily, the antiquity
of the site blends nicely with the aged look of the images.

Nikon F2 and 24mm f2 Nikkor, with Agfa CN17 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Wonderful doublet ! A all time classic image of Acropolis !
I think CN17 did a great work here ! All images made on this film
have a slide look, and here even more, the tones are very subtle.
(Where on earth did you remember Agfa CN17 ? It's been more than
30 years, when I was a child, that I heard about this film !).
