Just for comparison, I took a 4x5 camera to the same location where
I used the old Ansco No. 3 VP Jr. 6x9. Although that old Wollensak
lens did a great job, I think you can 'feel' some greater 'presence' in
this 4x5 unretouched scan. There is more 'body' to the trees and
of course smoother gradation of tone. To be fair, the 4x5 is almost
three times larger in film area than 6x9m, and I used Ilford Delta 100,
and not Neopan 400 - but I feel the difference would still be very obvious.
(Due to lens focal length, I could not exactly duplicate the compositions.)
