Argus c-four


The Argus c-four (not C4) built 1951-1957 followed on from the
legacy of the enigmatic Argus C-3 'brick', and according to some
writers, may have been the best camera Argus ever built.

This handsome 35mm rangefinder camera has the f2.8 50mm
coated Cintar lens, and speeds 1/10 to 1/300 and B.

Another flea market find, complete with a stitched thick leather every
ready case, this camera has a stuck shutter, hence its price - $4.

Are you sure it is not a new camera? It looks like nobody used it until now! A very fine example of the US cameras makers. As always an excellent picture. V

Have you ever heard of the Geiss-modified version?

That looks pretty cool and a lot of fun. I did a search to see if any of these modified versions are for sale, but I haven't found one.

so cool with it's external focus gear mechanism...really a pity it no longer works...V (the C-3 was my first experience with a 'real' camera)

I have never heard the brand´s name Argus but the camera looks great.
