These always make me think of going to raves when I was a teenager and realising that you or the cute girl on the other side of the room looks really cool wearing a white top under the UV lamp, so you or she stays there and hope to get noticed! The flecks the lamps show up on your skin have the unfortunate effect of making you look diseased. So that's why I never got the girl...
