Magnolia macrophylla (Bigleaf Magnolia) stands out in texture and
color in the Tennesse forest. Distinguishable by the huge bloom
with the small purple spots inside the petals and the huge (12"-36")
leaves that are shallowly heart-shaped and pubescent beneath.
