Mertensia virginica

Virginia Bluebell is a perennial found in most of the eastern US. It exists in the moist or wet woods of the Western Highland Rim and east Tennessee and Shelby County (Memphis). Buds are pink turning to showy, pale blue (very rarely white or pink), nodding, tubular flowers. It usually dies back to dormancy soon after blooming.
