15. James Honeyman-Scott (11/4/56-6/16/82) "Tattooed Love Boys" (The Pretenders) for my new gallery
"Telling Stories from the Grave" and for the November Song Titles/One Artist Challenge.
According to Honeyman-Scott, Hynde had a unique style he adjusted to in several ways: "She
does quite a bit of rhythm guitar, and I don't know anybody who plays like her. It's real
distinct, and I can't count her beat half the time. Instead, I just put a little guitar line
over it, like the lick in 'Tattooed Love Boys'" (Guitar Player, 1981). James Honeyman-Scott's
lead guitar riffs are maybe not what you call typical, yet on this album they cut like a
knife, to say the least. Too bad this first lineup did not last too long.
