...baby Jesus lying in a manger as the shepherd with
his staff arrives to see the chosen one on the guide
of angels and a star on high. The shepherd's staff in
the form of a J was used to bring lost lambs back to
the fold as the Christ Child was to the world. The
symbolism is seen today in the form of candy canes of
white (purity) & red (blood) that form the staff's J.
