Crisp cool Fall morning. Each breath visible like
spirits dancing just ahead. Filtered light breaking
over the ridge warms my back. Days growing shorter.
Once hidden pigments slowly revealed as dominant ones
pass on back to the roots for winter hybernation.
Clinging leaves finally give up, release & float ever
so gently to the ground while others head on beyond
to places unseen around the bend and on down stream.
