In Laos, the year starts at the full moon of November. November in the Laotian calendar is like December in western country. People watch for the moon, and at the full moon they start the New Year. The men and women gather food and meat for the festival. It is after harvest time, so they bring rice and corn too.
New Year goes on for one whole month.
