Davide Cassani, on the right, was particular about his bike. Here he watches as Bianchi's mechanic prepares the bike before a stage in Hawaii. As a bike shop owner I was interested in how the team mechanics worked. One thing I learned is how different riders varied in their interest in how their bike was prepared. Some riders were indifferent, others were really picky. One thing that really blew me away was how some riders liked their entire bike, excepting rubber parts, swabbed in kerosene.
