Going home

Vitez, Bosnia

I believe these are the last of the Royal Cheshires leaving Vitez, going home. They were the first Brits to man the Vitez base, and were replaced by the Prince of Wales Own Yorkshire Regiment, known in the American Revolutionary War as the 15th Foot. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Wikipedia can supply plenty of detail about the 14th and 22nd in the American Revolutionary War.

And the 15th were certainly at Brandyhill in 1777 also. Roy

The Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire since 1958. Now called the 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regt (Prince of Wales's Own). Historically an amalgamation of the 14th and 15th Regts of Foot. The 15th fought at Quebec.
The Cheshires were the 22nd of Foot.
