Nice To Be Seen

The wasps were kind enough to build their nest where it could be seen.
Some years the wasps and yellow jackets nest in a spot that is stumbled into.
Most of the time I can discourage them from nesting
and can keep their numbers down. Knock them out early in the season.
You don’t want to kill them all off because they can be beneficial predators.
At the same time you don’t want to have an incident.
Yeah! it’s happened and you want to be running before they figure out
you are the offending being that they are going to chase.
They will and you’re going to want the head start.

Super shot of these wasps just trying to live their lives, like we are all trying to do. They don't know they are building in awkward spots sometimes, do they. V

I wouldn't need a head start because I'd never be this close to begin with. It's nice you understand they're beneficial. Voted.

Had never encountered them before moving here. There are several spots in the neighborhood where they like to nest, one being on my lower shed. Luckily I have yet to stumble into one. Agree with David. This one looks large enough to cause trouble. Nice, detailed shot of the hive activity. Vote.

A graphic a creepy but beautiful detailed photo of the nest. I notice by using 147mm you were not chancing a close up. "VV"
