This hound dog lives along the driveway to the little farm where we get our eggs.
This dog runs along the fence racing anyone coming down the driveway
to beat them to the corner of his field.
I used to just drive by and let the dog do his thing.
Now he knows me and we play the game.
I slow way down and the dog runs down the fence,
then runs back waiting for me to get to his spot. If he takes off early I stop.
He runs, I stop, he runs back, I move, he runs, I stop, he runs back, Then he waits…
Then we both go! He bays the whole time.
Dog still gets to the corner first and barks at me as I drive by.
It takes maybe an extra minute of my trip, but it’s time well wasted.

Apparently the dog also has a game with the geese in the field across the driveway.
They come over to their fence to honk and hiss at the dog.
The dog runs back and forth along his fence barking back! They do it until they wear out.
Then the geese go back to their barnyard, feathers ruffled but feeling they have done their duty.
It’s a new game they started playing recently but they do it everyday!
It's a game with no score just played for the sake of playing.
That's a good life!
