Yip it is indeed Mr Peter McFarlane." Para Handy" "One of Ten McFarlanes All men except one, and he was a valet".

Para Handy`s Vital Spark would have been a lot smaller than this one. with an open wheel house often described, and a sail rigged as a spanker. " spray sheild ". Also the super structure is also described in a manner that the engineer Mcphail could stand up in the engine room which brought his head above the level of the deck. Para handy was once described trying to Kick at McPhail while he was exposed thus.

I don`t think any of the small puffers have survived properly although there are a Few toy ones about.

Oh Incidently. The figure is directly modelled from the Cover art from the "1969 Edition published by Pan Books Ltd. I have it in front of me as I type. The likeness is stunning

a complete copy.

Nice shots anyway Zak

Looks like he could be connected with 'The Vital Spark'!

I'm pretty sure that's the statue of Para Handy that was made for the Glasgow Garden Festival in 1988.

Maybe he's trying to transmit some strange sign language- or possibly giving a boat some directions! Ha ha! Good shot!
