10th January

There goes another Bute Tourist Attraction, D-Day for the Wreck.

My mum had the Pug all morning so by the time
i got out to Ettrick about lunchtime the job was near enough done,
they dont hang around these boatyard people!!

Ettrick wont be the same without it,
what will i have to take pics of now!?

click below for more pics:

We've got a Severe Weather Warning,
"Severe gales overnight tonight expected to cause disruption as they will be accompanied by heavy rainfall"
I doubt the wreck would of lasted that if it's anywhere near as bad as the Hogmanay storm!

Have a look at this too! -

Nikon D50
1/250s f/8.0 at 30.0mm full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Wow! What a great shot! It looks like a huge mouth eating up all the rubbish! Tragic though! Did anyone get killed?

what a f***ing liberty, to destroy the wreck on Ettrick.

I'm aghast. I had not realized the wreck's days were numbered. Your shot with the jaws reaching in is excellent.

Yikes! a true "grab shot"! :-o
a shame it's gone - I would have loved to have photographed it one day... but at least we have your photographic record to remind us of it!

And the great iron dragon ate the poor wee boat in just 3 mouthful, and all on PBase were made sad.....

What a shame, it was a pretty inspirational addition to the landscape, brought out the artist in many of us......at least I have my watercolour!! Michelle

Farewell Co-Worker. Now I wonder which fishing boat skipper will be next to abandon his boat on Ettrick Bay?

What a sad day.... Like JW says, you've got some valuable records of how it was!
