8th June

The Harbour is now officially finished,
the refitting of the harbour building(ticket office, waiting room etc) is done
(it was delayed due to the original company doing the work going bust)
and today the portacabins that were being used as the ticket office and waiting room got removed
as well as the portaloos further along,
so for the first time in years there's no portacabins down there!

so i guess that's also my 'Rebuilding the Harbour' gallery finished too then...

Rainy day, nothing else to take pics of ;-)

Going by progress over recent years, I wouldn't close the harbour gallery. Like the roads, someone will find a reason to start digging it up, if not tomorrow, then the day after.

I agree with Jenny and Des; the inner harbour is really nice especially when boats are moored there, but the front--oh dear!

I hope they keep that portaloo level as they load it onto the truck!

It's worth the end result...the harbour looks very inviting to the guest!

This is why you are so important Zak. Just think a hundred plus years from now, generations will be able to look at the what you have recorded. Well done. Now for you next project.

I agree with Jenny. The Pier has been spoilt by the "ugly" Ramp and stupid glass "thing". Not to mention the fence. Bring back the good old days when you could walk on the pier at any time of the day or night.

Hope no one gets desperate to go ;-)

Happy memories of the days before that 'orrible corrugated metal ramp appeared. On the other hand, I think the inner harbour pontoons and the lifting bridge are welcome additions. In summary? Front ruined, back improved. 5 out of 10.
