9th September

Meikle Ascog and Ascog House(to the left in this pic out of view)
are both owned by the Landmark Trust and are let out for holidays.

Meikle was built sometime in the 1840's while Ascog House dates back to the 17th Century,
you didn't use to be able to see much of the houses from the driveway up to them
because of all the trees but they appear to have all been cut down!!

I've only ever been inside Ascog House and it has to be said it's very spooky...

Is it my imagination, or does today's selection (and the past few days) reveal Bute to be something of a building site, or road works heaven (or hell) at the moment? :)

it's kind of isolated. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a ghost there.

It looks very spooky. How many good trees did they cut for this viewing?

Good place for a Pbase get together, we could rent the two!

I think I know what Coleen's going to say. And I think I agree. Why couldn't they have left the trees alone?

Zak, is that the driveway opposite Ascog beach? I always wondered what was up there. I aleways thought it was a private house.
