Octavus Weld

An average height upright bush rose that was discovered growing on an old gravesite
no one recognised the rose;
therefore the local Rosarians decided to name it after the inscription on the gravestone.

Lovely find, the painted effect adds a nice finish. Lovely old shaped many loose petaled rose, so lovely.

I think there are a lot of roses named for gravesites. Interesting... one of the reasons why I love roses. This is a gorgeous photo! V
