En route - across the road.
When we pulled over on the way home from our night out I took a couple of photos, one
you have already seen, I started this gallery with it, and then took a photo of the
view across the road. Some of the trees are dying from the dry year. Apparently this
particular tree, the "stringybark gum" likes wet years not the dry ones, they die off and thus
create a fire risk.
This will be the last photo from our night at Mount Lofty House.

Radio Towers
At the top of the mountain are 3 towers, we were quite close to them at Mount Lofty House,
but we can see them from where we live as well, but in a different order.
Our view from home has the 3 towers in a line. As you expect we don't need anything
on our roof to run our TV programs at home.

Sweets & Breakfast
Dick opted out of sweets, but Mt. Lofty House served him a plate wishing him a Happy Birthday with a chocolate bar plus lit candle,
we were actually celebrating our son's birthday, though it was a voucher
sent by our son for Dick's 80th held back in May that we were using that day.
I had a Nut mouse with icecream. The other
two photos depict the breakfast we had.. a 2 course affair, this was the hot breakfast
pictured here... pancakes for me and a ham omelette for Dick. The first course was
cereals that we served ourselves from a magnificent display of choices! We were both
impressed with the breakfast.

First meal
Mostly my meal, I was too slow for Dick, he'd eaten his before
I thought to take photos. You can see one of his that I
caught before he'd started eating, top right, with a quail egg.
In the main picture, the entree served on a tray of buckwheat.
That's my meal - was too slow for Dick, he'd eaten his tooth-full, we both had a go at the buckwheat before
we realised it was just for show.
The bread was nice, we'd already eaten that.
Photos taken with my phone.

The car trails
A narrow one-way track for cars to get around the main building and smaller out-houses was thankfully negotiated by Dick.

Exit Doorway
The easiest exit doorway when its time to leave.
Mount Lofty House came through the awful bushfires (wild-fires) of the 1980's with quite a lot of
damage. This section of the house has been added since the big fires and I think the
new part fits quite nicely with the original house. Alongside the house was a building that
was completely gutted, that and many more were burnt and completely razed by the fire.
One day I'll go back and take some photos of the original section, if it is at all possible.

Late morning indoors
Behind the fancy glass door is the breakfast restaurant area
with a delightful view across the Piccadilly Valley. An image
taken as we were checking out..after a delightful overnight
stay, meal and breakfast.
Today as I post this image it is the 1st of December, the
official beginning of our summer. We had rain overnight, woke
to a thick fog and the temperatures are more like winter!

The Sleeping side of Mt. Lofty House.
The wing is named after a delightful valley of which it has
the view of from the breakfast bar. We did have a wonderful
breakfast there looking across the Piccadilly valley.

Dual Road
On the way home after our night of luxury.. the phone went and
we pulled off the road. While Dick chatted I took a couple of
photos to show you the back roads we use when travelling to and
from Crafers/Mount Lofty.
