The first WA gist meeting was held on a beautiful sun-filled day on
Saturday, July 8th at the home of GIST patient Gerald Snodgrass. Attending
were five other GIST patients and their spouses/caregivers for a total
attendance of 12 people (plus Ginger the dog).
We had the opportunity to share experiences and concerns. The GIST patients
ranged from fairly newly diagnosed (Peggy) to a veteran of eight years
(Marcel). It was a delight to meet 11 yr old Leah and see her courageously
meeting her challenges. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet other
patients and we all felt that the time together was well spent.
We also decided to meet again in Feb 2007.
