Buda Castle is part of the Budapest World Heritage Site, declared in 1987.
Buda Castle (Hungarian: Budai Vár, Turkish: Budin Kalesi) is the historical castle complex of the Hungarian kings in Budapest, Hungary, first completed in 1265. King Bela IV built a castle here after the Tartar invasion. The Castle quarter stands 180m above sea level and is 1.5 km by 500m wide. There are numerous churches, the most popular being St. Matthias Church, numerous monuments and the most amazing views from the Fisherman's Bastion.
