The bird in the photo has only one leg. I was about 40 yards away so he did not get too disturbed by my presence and allowed me to photograph as long as I was able. The wind was very strong and caused me some problems in getting this photo. This time of year the birds are still in winter plumage and starting to molt into their breeding plumage. They blend in very well with their background but their movement in the fields gives them away.
