Resize in Photoshop 7 and Elements 2

This will walk you thought a quick overview of resizing your images in Photoshop 7 or Elements 2.
There are many ways to resize your images but this is the way I do it for my Pbase site or emailing to friends and family.

The oringal image was 2240x1680 jpg image right from the camera, 2.4 mb in size.
After edinting the image and saving it out as a new filename with level 12 Quality settings it was 3.4mb.
After I have edited my image and saved it out under a new filename (NEVER resave the original) for myself I then resize it for Pbase or email. In Photoshop click on Image, slide to Image Size and click. This will bring up the Image Size window.

This is the same window for Photoshop or Elemnents.
Make sure the Constrain Proportions box is checked, and the Resample image is checked and set to Bicubic. Enter the size you want the image to be, in most cases for the web and email I use 800x600. So you would just enter 800 in the with and the 600 will be auto entered in the height. Now click OK.

Now I have am 800x600 image that is about 500k. This is just of big for my general needs so I compress them down as I save them out.

Click on File and slide to Save As, you will now get the save as window, give this file any name you want, and click OK. I save my web and email files in a different folder then my other images so at this time I also move to the folder where I keep my little images for posting and email.
Save it.
