Well, could sing this song each morning at the moment, whenever I look out my window.
Another favourite group from the past, and one of the finest voices in rock history for me.
Saw John Fogerty and Creedence Clearwater Revival back in 1970.
Have seen so many great artists those days, but in my memory this concert is still the best ever:
Silly organisation had left the chairs within the hall.
And there was me, a nineteen year old boy, sitting in front of the stage,
mainly surrounded by what I called the old generation those days:
men and women in the thirties, grown up with a different kind of music
(Elvis, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley, etc.).
Mainly dressed in leather, mainly a bit heavy weight already.
But when the band started to play, still behind the curtain,
they were all on the up at once, many of them dancing on the chairs immediately.
The rest was pure magic.
They really gave the people what they wanted.
WHO´LL STOP THE RAIN (CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL)
(John Fogerty)
Long as I remember the rain been comin down.
Clouds of mystry pourin confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages, tryin to find the sun;
And I wonder, still I wonder, wholl stop the rain.
I went down virginia, seekin shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable, I watched the tower grow.
Five year plans and new deals, wrapped in golden chains.
And I wonder, still I wonder wholl stop the rain.
Heard the singers playin, how we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together, tryin to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin, fallin on my ears.
And I wonder, still I wonder wholl stop the rain.
