It started as a traditional folk song from Venezuela, written by Simon Diaz about 1980.
It soon became one of the most popular songs in latin music, played by each and everyone.
And then a few years later a group made it a world wide hit -
under a different name and with a different arrangement.
But I wonīt tell you the hit song. Wonder if someone will find out.
The version of Caballo Viejo in the video is by a group called Los Reyes de la Cumbia.
It was the best version I could find at youtube. Itīs ok, though far from the best I know.
