One of the few smaller towns in our area which is still on its own and not linked to one of the bigger neighbour towns. Grown from a village to a town during the coal mining period like so many others here. The tower of the former coal mining factory 'Zeche Erin' still exists as an industrial monument and is to be seen from nearly each place of the center. For me the town is just around the corner.
