Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae), Perth Zoo, Western Australia, Australia.
The status of the Sumatran tiger is 'critically endangered'. Loss of habitat, poaching for body parts and poisoning to
prevent tigers killing livestock have contributed to the rapid decline in tiger numbers. Approximately 400 Sumatran tigers
remain in the wild, while another 250 live in zoos around the world. Click here for more information on the Sumatran tiger.
