12-Mar-2005: A pair of before and after shots of cleaning the 20D sensor. I used the 8 mm SensorBrush from Visible Dust. I went over the entire sensor three times (using several strokes each time to cover the entire sensor). You see two large dust particles (and several small ones) before cleaning, and a much cleaner (though not spotless) sensor after cleaning. Not having blue sky on this day, I shot a white piece of paper with the built in flash at f/22 at very close range. I think that uneven reflections off the paper may in part account for the picture not being completely uniform.

03-Sep-2005: Ok, it was time to try again. Four shots this time, blue sky at f/22. First one's the "before". I had gotten tired of the handful of dust particles. Second shot: oh boy, what have I done? Gunk from the pressured air can? Third shot: A couple more tries, and it looks like the smear is coming off just fine. Notice the large lint particle though. Fourth shot: Ok, looks like a reasonably clean, usable sensor. I've had enough excitement for this time.

14-Jan-2006: I found a very funny circular particle on the sensor (before). This time, I charged the SensorBrush with a Giotto rocket blower instead of canned air. Much less scary, since I don't have to worry about gunk coming out of the can. I swiped the sensor just once with three swipes (to cover the whole area), and it was clean enough that I didn't even bother to do it a second time.
