The vet thought he was born that way. I don't think the lack of an eye bothered him since he was always that way. Unfortunately his cancer got him. We tried to give him the best life we could, given that hedgehogs are not known to have robust health. He lived longer than an average wild hedgehog though. See the lesion under his chin? That was from the surgery and the biopsy he just had that same day.
