Jan 13: Better in black

I love this little camera. But it would be so much more discreet in black. After reading on the web about a guy that painted a little Canon rangefinder black, I thought I'd have a go myself. I found 1/2" brush and a tin of Hammerite black enamel paint out in the garage, and set to. Here's the before shot. When it's dry, I'll pick out the OLYMPUS text in Tipex. I'll show you the results tomorrow.

Oh look there's an old Praktica for sale... I bet that'd look fab in black Hammerite...

Update: I've now finished the paintjob and the 'after' shot is here (link)

I think the hammerite would be going a bit too far. Why not use matt black emulsion, then you could rinse it off if you ever wanted to sell the camera.

Really? With a half inch brush? Careful now...

Careful the paint doesn't make the shutter stick!
