Oct 19: Classic

For those who are still confussed, yesterday's picture was taken with ye olde G2. JHR's new G6 has inspired me to dust it off and it a little more often. It has it's limitations - focus is slow, and non existant in low light. Anything over ISO100 is very noisy, and don't expect to pull detail from the shadows like you can with a Canon DSLR. But it was a good little camera in it's day, and still makes a good photograph all these years, err, I mean months later.

I was hoping it was something more mystical but the G2 will do. I do like the flip screen!

Don't knock the G2!

We have one of these at work. I remember how impressed I was when we first got it. I used it a week or so ago and could not believe how slow it was. Technology spoils us.

Nothing wrong with older gear i still use my Olympus 5050Z and i get good results from it agreed though you cant beat a SLR for quality this said the newer generation of prosumer compacts is getting there.

Ahh I thought that's how you did it! (The 4:3 aspect ratio kind of tipped me off) Neat shot here!!

Hmmm. Back to read the text...Well, the G6 has that little focus lightie flashie thing so it focuses just fine in low light (I took a few in the bath last night with only candle light!! So I tested it out!) It doesn't seem very grainy to me. And the best thing is the SUPER MACRO mode...It's almost as cool as a Canon 100mm 2.8!! (I said ALMOST!)
