These strays are the current relatives of their ancestors’ who have lived in the surrounding desert years before I moved in to my then new home some plus 20 years ago. Competing for food along with the coyotes and some times becoming their food. They survived by hunting rabbits and birds for survival invading the trash of the new home owners for scraps.
Now 20 years later they still roam the neighborhood living and dieing. Now by stray dogs, uncaring people, gone are the coyotes due to the expansion of Las Vegas, moving further into the hills rarely returning to their old haunts. Now only the cats have the neighborhood.
