At the papermill

I got photo-permission at work.
PM2, the machine I worked at for almost 26 years was shut down in November 2008.
So I wanted to snap some pics when it was still running.
We made mostly book-paper and thicker, brighter paper for news-papers and advertising.
Weight in the range of 49-80 gram/square meter.
The products, and I, moved to PM 12, one of the newer and bigger papermachines. It´s not so bad ;O)

I´m not familiar with the english terminology for paper-manufacturing. But I Googled a bit!

Greetings from far-off New Zealand! I just love your pictures of 2:an. I worked in the paper industry for 20 years, visited Hallsta a couple of times. Even gave a short lecture when I was working at STFI in the beginning of 70-talet. Your images of the mill bring back all sorts of memories. Språkkunskaperna har nästan försvunnit nu för tiden, men tack så väldigt mycket för minnen!

På tal om ingenting så praoade jag där för ett halvår sedan. Väldigt ondskefull fabriken ser ut nattetid..
