beautiful capture... this church is very dear to my family... my mother still cannot believe it is gone... ashes to ashes... dust to dust... i guess that is true of all in life!!
Yes, a very sad news - last night this old, 1802 built, tserkva has burried down. One local plus five fire troops from Lesko and Sanok were fighting the fire. Only the belfry remained from the fire, fragment of one wall and the door to the church. The rest of the church together with the inside is gone. Also the Iconostatis dated 1832.
This tserkva was one of three only in Poland built in East-Lemko style, which survived the time of war and afterwar political actions against the Lemko and Ukrainian tradition. Two remaining are in Turzansk and Rzepedz.
