Part of the greater Brisbane plan, Roma Park offically opened on 6 April 2001. The 16 hectares of the park are the worlds largest sub-tropical garden in a city centre. The park contains more than 100,000 shrubs, 1200 trees, 1800 unique specimens and 350 palms. There is also an 11 million litre lake and a 34 metre long waterfall which drops 5 tonnes of water per second.
