The emerald waters of Hanging Lake are so clear you can sit and watch the trout swim by. In this image of this Colorado icon, you you can see several trout in the lower portion of the crystal clear water. Arrive early (I hiked up in the dark) and you'll often enjoy this scene all by yourself. I stayed for nearly an hour before heading back down. It was a lovely summer morning.
