'I'm just a grumpy old woman who spends most of her life going round in circles'.... said Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson as she opened the Stanney Sports College and track this afternoon. What a wonderful thing to say!

Tanni is one of the world's best known paralympians, and a real hero figure in the UK.
She also took time out to have a photo with the training band (Denise did the honours with these 2 shots).



A real strong character who decided at 13 that athletics was what she was going to do, and she said it had dictated her life, enabling her to travel and see and meet all sorts of people and places. Even governing when she had her first baby! if she wasn't pregnant be a particular date then it would have to be the year after!!! A real inspiration. Captured I hope in the next few shots.
