Northern Ethiopia - A Rich Historical Past

The North of Ethiopia is drenched in ancient Christianity, with old churches and monasteries, holy books, priests, religious festivals and pious people. All this in an incredible landscape, Simien Mountains, Lake Tana, Blue Nile Gorge.

I loved the pictures .it is fascinating .it is good to show what Ethiopia and Ethiopians really looks like .Most Europeans thinks we come from something that is Lifeless and desert ,they have bad imagination.
Ethiopia is 13 months sunshine full of undiscovered beauty.
My advice to all western media is think about things you are about to show for millions people on TV.
History do change BUT ancient history will stay with
Us forever and ever !!!!!!

Hello Monique!!!!

Fantastic photos, well done.
I haven't got too much time to look at them right now... maybe more when we are back in Amsterdam.
Funnily enough, we are now in Bahir Dar and looking to go to the monasteries tomorrow. The chap sitting next to me says he knows the man on this photo, so maybe we will see him tomnorrow.
We are here to relax a bit, but could not get into the Ghion hotel, but we have a pleasnt enough alternative.
Omo was great although I was disappointed that we didn't spend more time with the tribes, unlike yourself. Thje Hammer people were amazing, even though we only saw them from the road.
Hope all is well and we will certainly be in touch when we get back.
