If you were able to keep the left hand barred window shutter entirely in the frame this image would have worked as expression. The two shutters, fully open, would echo the shape of a newspaper held wide open.. This greater emphasis on the open shutters would also convey the concept of freedom of expression. You probably were concentrating on the man when you made this shot, and did not study the nature of what surrounds him. A solution: begin with a wider frame, and then keep zooming in. If you had started wider, you would have had both shutters fully in the frame.
