I grew up in Franklin Pa. and came to this park many times growing up. Conneaut Lake is a great park and hate to see how it has fallen on hard times. I loved the blue streak coaster and still think it's the best ever. I have been to to several amusment parks over the years, and ridden some cool coasters, but NONE of them can compare to 'ole blue'. I have lived in N.C. since 1986 and really hope I can can ride it again sometime in the near future, hopefully in 2011.

Awesome pix. I have so many memories of family reunions and Armco picnics back in the '80's and 90's. I loved the Hell Hole, Devil's Den, Ultimate Trip, and the Blue Streak! I remembered the tunnel but forgot about the picture of the whole track with the multi-colored lights on the Blue Streak. I live in Charleston SC now, but maybe someday we will be able to get the family all together to make a trip up there; wonder if the gum wall is still in Devil's Den?

ron hill: i wrote that title when i uploaded that photo, the blue streak was built in 1937 so actually it is over 70 years old. sounds like you are the one who needs to "do your homework" ;)

The Blue Streak is not anywhere near 65 years old. It was installed in 1964. Do your homework, or learn math!

i remember the picnics for the mills and plants that were still in good shape back in the late 80s and i rode the blue streak in 1984 i hope they can keep the park open it would be sad to seeit fade away , it brings alot of joybto people these days as bad as every thing is hope it continues to do so for the younger generation go conneat.

haha i've been going to conneaut since i was born every summer. this roller coaster is such a beast, and it broke down once when my uncle was on it. i love it. :)

It is a great old classic coaster. That first hill is so steep it takes your breath away. And that last turn on the end is really fun too.

I never go on any roller coaster, i'm soo scared of hights but this is the only one i will go on!! its sooo much fun! can't wait to come back this summer!

I am a resident of Conneaut Lake Pennsylvania!!I am 13 years old! I am fourtunate enough to get to rid ethe blue streak almost every day I live on the lake so I just hop in my boat and zip acroos the lake then dock at the park!! And yes the park is still open and yes there are 2 blues treaks

I remember riding this at least 20 times in a row one day many years ago. It's my favorite ride at Conneaut, and I hope to one day go back and ride it again. I hope the park does everything they can to re-open every year, because it would be a shame to see this coaster disappear...

Can you clarify? I thought the Blue Streak was at Cedar Point and even though it's been a few years since I've visit the Ohio park, this doesn't look anything like the ride unless your photos are just so well focused on things I hadn't noticed when I rode it. Can you say where these were shot?

Love the shots... I worked at Cedar Point for a summer back in '95 and rode the Blue
Streak many, many times. Great coaster. :) Always have to loosen your seatbelt as much
as you possibly can though to make the ride more fun. :)

thanks. the blue streak has probably more lateral movement than any other coaster.
i lost my sunglasses on the ride and didnt even know till i was off.

You have some great shots here, Lou. You've captured everything but the screams! How I remember this great old roller coaster! I used to like it even better than the higher and "better" ones at Kennywood. Thanks for the memories!
